This board appears to be read all over the world! But tell me, what is your opinion on the state of Vermont in the US? After the highly publicized defection of Republican James Jeffords to the Independent party (YEAH!!!), and the passage of the Civil Union law which allows marriage like benefits to gay and lesbian couples making a legal commitment to each other, Vermont has been in the public spotlight. Recent letters in our local newspaper cite hundreds of letters from disgruntled ‘individuals’ who have vilified our state and plan a national boycott (not unlike the boycott of Disney). We are more than just Ben & Jerry’s, holstein cows, maple syrup, microelectronics, and teddy bears. I’d appreciate comments, both pro and con, with an explanation of your reasoning. Be nice and I’ll even give you directions to come here for a visit (while we still have summer!).
