I’m white and two of my co-workers who are black took me to a restaurant where they were the only blacks there. Later, I asked them if they noticed that type of situation when they go to places, i.e. being the only blacks in the crowd. They told me they don’t usually notice that kind of thing unless it’s brought to their attention by a rude waiter/waitress or clerk. I wonder if this is true among all blacks? When you go into an establishment where there are primarily white people, do you notice this right off or just don’t think about it unless something happens where it’s brought to your attention?
