Dee25794ParticipantCan someone tell me where my husband and I went wrong? Why does my son find it necessary to ‘act’ ghetto. He is a upper middle class teen taking honors courses at a private high school. We’ve never lived in any neighborhood other than one which was middle to upper middle class. My husband and I are well educated, with white collar jobs. He seems to be drawn to this ‘image’. He seems to think it’s necessary to speak, dress, and carry himself a certain way. He even wanted to get out of the honors courses and take the ‘regular’ courses. I don’t understand this. Help us help him. He’s a good kid that never has gotten into any trouble, but I’m afraid this behavior can potentially hinder him in the future.
