MelissaMemberI was born and raised in Lexington, KY and my family originated from southern and eastern Kentucky. I have what most people call a strong southern accent. What I would like to know is why do most people laugh or talk to me like I’m stupid because of my accent? I am intelligent and have strong opinions, so why do people not bother to hear what I have to say as soon as they hear the first word come out of my mouth? Also, why do most people assume that because I’m from Kentucky that I was a product of incest or that I’m in love with a family member? I have never in my life known anyone to marry or be intimate with a family member. I would love to hear some views on this.
