Cate BoddingtonMemberI read in today’s paper that they need donations of black(negro) blood to help sufferers of sickle cell disease. Apparently black blood has different red cell properties from white(caucasion) blood? What does this mean for mulatto children? Are they more at risk for disease? I always understood the mix of races to be a good thing, genetically, in that race-specific diseases could not be carried through to the offspring.Im just concerned for my future grandchildren,as we are not a racist family and there is a great likelihood of mixed race marriage among my children. This is a serious question- sorry so ignorant.
