A .IfebighMemberWhat criteria doees an actor/director have to meet to become a voting member of the academy awards? I just realized after Halle and Denzel’s win that minorities are not represented in the academy. I heard on the radio that there were only 96 African-americans in the 6000 voting academy members. Is it because they are not allowed membership or just because they dont feel it necessary to be a member? If its the latter, it saddens me because how else can minorities be recognised and represented if they dont believe in themselves? Please clarify for me.Thanks
