Chicana or Chicano, in a strict sense, is a Mexican American, a son of Mexicans born in the United States. A Latina or Latino is a person born in a Latin American country (from México to Argentina) or born anywhere in the world but having Latin parents or ascendants in general. I’m of European descent, born in Venezuela and therefore Latin, but I’m not Chicano.
