I think that you’re quite right. It amazes me how so many people pretend that they don’t interpret the bible when, in fact, they do. There are literally hundreds of arcane laws that we dispense with, but some are held up as still applicable by those who claim to be biblical literalists. I trust that these people have the townfolk stone their disrespectful children and that they don’t wear clothing made of more than one kind of fabric. You can’t have your cake and eat it to!
