This is a fun question, Emma. I’ll answer as best I can. I’m 17 and live in California. As far as friends go, I have a small amount, but they are very close to me. For fun, I usually hang out at coffee shops and bookstores. I love music. LOVE it. Rock, mainly. My family is very important to me, although mine is a bit dysfunctional. I’m very close to my brother. As for relationships, it is typical for a girl my age, or even your age, to have a boyfriend, but it usually doesn’t get too serious. Some teen girls actually have kids. Not many, though. There’s very little pressure to do drugs or drink, although there are ample opportunities to do them (I don’t.) At 16, a lot of teens have jobs. I had one at 15.

It’s not so hard being in the United States as a teen, although the media really kills your self-image by projecting the ‘ideal’ woman to be tall, thin and slightly ditsy. That’s a huge struggle for teen girls here, but I’m sure it’s the same everywhere. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to know more or chat.
