Catholics do not pray TO Mary, we merely ask Mary to pray FOR us. Just like I would ask any random person to pray for me and I know Christians in general do that. If you look at the Hail Mary, for instance, ‘Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.’ (All directly from the Bible) ‘Holy Mary Mopther of God’ (stating the belief of Christians) ‘PRAY FOR US SINNERS, NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH. Amen’ So as you can see, we do not pray to Mary, or any of the the Saints for that matter, as a devine being, we only ask for them to pray for us to God.
